NİLÜFER DEVECİGİL

Devecigil studied at the University of Claremont Colleges in the United States, and received a three-year psychology master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology at Naropa University in America. Approaching psychology using gestalt and somatic experiencing approaches, Devecigil managed to work with Carol and Byron Norton, the creators of Experiential Play Therapy, Pat Ogden, known for his specialization in trauma, and some other pioneering therapists. In Germany he participated in training courses and activities on Somatic Experiences organized by Diane Poole Heller. He received courses on meditation and mindfulness during his education at Naropa.

He also received a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) certificate (train of trainer) from the University of Michigan in the United States, and a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) certificate from the New York Omega Center. Devecigil continues to participate in various programs abroad for mindful retreat activities ranging from 2 to 10 days each year. He gives parenting courses to both entities and individuals, and also conducts group activities in Turkey. He publishes articles on parenting issues at Hthayat periodical, acts as a consultant for publications of the Parents Academy of Doğan Egmont, and also writes the forewords of these books. He is the author of the book “The Way of Light” published by the Dogan Book.
